Percussionist and composer with 30 years of career as a professional musician based in Portugal. He is a native of Angola, emigrated young to Brazil, resided in Australia and USA and currently lives in Portugal. He started his passion for percussion in Angola, but it was in Brazil that he made more in-depth contact about Brazilian instruments and rhythms.
He studied at the School of Arts and Crafts in Rio de Janeiro, at Juventude Musical Portuguesa in Lisbon and at the University of Sydney in the area of World Music. More recently he has developed projects that interconnect music, dance and theater, highlighting: Espande! (2015) at the Paper Museum in Paços de Brandão under the direction of Madalena Victorino, “Roda Atlântica” (2016) with choreography by Marta Coutinho and “Bule-Bule - New Traditional Dances” (since 2016 in various presentations).
