Paulo Pires is a cultural programmer in the Municipality of Loulé. His training strolls through the areas of Modern Languages and Literature (Portuguese Studies), Music, Archives and Libraries, Sociology and Education and Art. For the past 15 years he has been a programmer in the fields of Intangible Cultural Heritage, Libraries and Promotion / Mediation of Reading, Archives and Performing Arts.
He collaborated with the most recognized figures of the national arts and letters in multiple actions and cultural and educational projects. In addition to extensive production at the level of articles and conferences, he is the author of several works, the last being Escrytos - chronicles and essays on contemporary culture (2013-2017), edited by Arranha-Céus, by João Paulo Cotrim.
He is a member of the Technical-Scientific Council of the School of Education and Communication of the University of Algarve. Signs the artistic direction of Som Riscado - Loulé Music and Image Festival. Writes regularly at Público / Ípsilon on Culture and Arts. He enjoys photography, gastronomy, nature, documentary cinema and neuroscience.
