Born in 1976 In Funchal (Madeira - Portugal) started studying in Faro and then in Madeira at the local conservatorium. Moved to Lisbon where he studied at the Hot Club and has been in workshops and masterclasses with Phil Markowitz, Gregory Tardy, Nuno Ferreira, Pedro Moreira, Chris Cheek.
He represented the Hot Clube at the IASJ anual meeting in Santiago de Compostela at the year of 1999. Started teaching in the Hot Club at the year of 2000, he also taught at the Escola de jazz do Barreiro, Leiria and starded teaching in Madeira in 2001. In 2008 started teaching in ESML and in January 2009 becomes Hot Clube school pedagogical director. Played in differents groups with: Bernardo Moreira, Pedro Moreira, João Moreira, Bruno Pedroso, Nelson Cascais, Claus Nymark, Jorge Reis, André Sousa Machado, Filipe Melo, Alexandre Frazão, Carlos Barretto, Joana Machado, Mário Delgado, Perico Sambeat, Chris Cheek, Donald Harrison, Herb Geller, Julien Arguelles, Demian Cabaud, Paulinho Braga, Jesse Davis, Peter Bernstein, Omer Avital, Benny Golson, John Ellis, Seamus Blake, Guillermo Klein, Miguel Zénon, Jerry Gonzalez.
