Luísa Castro Almeida is an artist and researcher based in Lisbon, Portugal. In parallel to her art practice, she is currently doing a PHD in Artistic Studies-Art and Mediations at FCSH-Universidade Nova de Lisboa and working in cultural production as a freelancer.
Castro Almeida has published articles and lectures and holds an MA in Painting from the University of the Arts London and an MA in Entrepreneurship and Studies of Culture from ISCTE-IUL.
The artist has been participating in art shows regularly, in Lisbon and in London, since 2014. She has experience in scenography and in teaching art practice and theory to adults and children. In 2017, she was a member of Projecto Darte which focuses on sessions of art as therapy to youngsters. Since 2013, Castro Almeida has also been the co-coordinator of Terra A Terra, a project that applies architecture with social ends in the city of Beira, Mozambique.
